Social Emotional Learning
Social Emotional Learning enhances students’ capacity to integrate skills, attitudes, and behaviors to deal effectively and ethically with daily tasks and challenges. Learning outcomes include positive social behaviour, fewer conduct problems, less emotional distress and improved academic performance.
Furthermore, positive Social Emotional Development prepares young people for success in adulthood. Studies have shown significant associations between Social Emotional skills in children and key outcomes for young adults years later in education, employment, criminal activity, substance use, and mental health. Another study by Columbia University found that on average, for every $1 invested in Social Emotional Learning, there is a return of $11.
